When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Abel Willum took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Franz Ellemand to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of SofaRækken booed when Mariager IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esben Nilander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ibrahim Bergild was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. In the 12th match minute, Mariager IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ibrahim Bergild to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th match minute, Mariager IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asker Parming to maneuver through the defense. Bernhard Frisby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franz Ellemand read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernhard Frisby got free with Franz Ellemand in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Mariager IF's Franz Ellemand got control of the ball when Ali Spielberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Mariager IF getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Diego Holsmose hit a great ball. Bernhard Frisby scored 2-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franz Ellemand, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 31 played minutes Mariager IF got a freekick which was hit by Absalon Latour. Ronnie Druså didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Absalon Latour went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. August Taagehøj hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the SofaRækken defense, Asker Parming kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronnie Druså. The SofaRækken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronnie Druså should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With an all-out effort, Mariager IF's Ronnie Druså threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eskil Bastheim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Franz Ellemand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Espen Hasted in the 63rd minute of the match. Eskil Bastheim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SofaRækken getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Rufus Rinas hit a great ball. Franz Ellemand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinhard Vedum in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Sauvr in the 84th minute of play forced SofaRækken's goalkeeper Ronnie Druså to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Ali Spielberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 minutes, Rufus Rinas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SofaRækken and the Mariager IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wiktor Matic charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wiktor Matic the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wiktor Matic hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. SofaRækken's August Taagehøj managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Al Skarborg in the 96 minute of the game. When the match was over Mariager IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SofaRækken throughout the match.
