The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Helletofte FC's Timo Otterdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Mineiro in the 3rd minute of play. In the 9th minute of the match, Romário Mineiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Timo Otterdahl saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Isak Lysemose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Alsted's Witold Wietrzychowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Al Denize in the 43rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agostinho Leal during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agostinho Leal hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Helletofte FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Al Denize stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Edvardt Borreschmidt fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Helletofte FC's protests and gave Edvardt Borreschmidt a yellow card for diving instead. 55 minutes into the game, one of Helletofte FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Stephen Hjernø had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Al Denize received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Witold Wietrzychowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romário Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. FC Alsted's Ebbe Sand was substituted for Romário Mineiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Al Denize in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Alsted's goalkeeper Witold Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timo Otterdahl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ebbe Sand, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Agostinho Leal was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 86th match minute, FC Alsted was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Leal to maneuver through the defense. Al Denize sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timo Otterdahl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephen Hjernø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan Klerke hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Al Denize received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Witold Wietrzychowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Helletofte FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
