The long shot by Jochen Krämer in the 4th minute really tested Julien Ruge's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Manuel Benneter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johann Staffelt having to interfere. If Dirk Klerings had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julien Ruge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristian Jakob in the 20th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Julien Ruge successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julien Ruge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philipp Lösch in the 24th minute of play. Johann Staffelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Berti Michel, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Miklós Péter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johann Staffelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Philipp Lösch made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray Spor Kulübü's zone, Manuel Benneter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johann Staffelt came out of the goal and Manuel Benneter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th match minute, Galatasaray Spor Kulübü was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulus Kohnen to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Benneters short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Johann Staffelt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 64 played minutes Bergbaubetrieb Aue got a freekick which was hit by Dean Pingel. Julien Ruge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philipp Lösch, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. A collision led to Bergbaubetrieb Aue getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Ben Ebbing hit a great ball. Philipp Lösch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Julien Ruge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Markus Knopf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julien Ruge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Benneter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dean Pingel charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dean Pingel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dean Pingel hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Joachim Achteresch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bergbaubetrieb Aue's Dean Pingel got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute. The referee ordered Dean Pingel off the ground. The supporters of Galatasaray Spor Kulübü booed when Bergbaubetrieb Aue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dean Pingel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Galatasaray Spor Kulübü were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
