The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Coldemüntje. 1-0 came through a penalty shot after 17 played minutes, when DSC Arminia Bielefeld:s Kurt Sonnenberg calmly waited for Coldemüntje:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. The audience was convinced that Lovis Urgien's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Welf Krasselt was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game.
