The audience thought a goal was coming when Timm Thielmann got free with Jorge Manes in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes in the game, Timm Thielmann fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jorge Manes having to interfere. Lars Rösler succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. When Stefan Schnellrieder, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ilja Sieg was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Lars Rösler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Oberbenningrath FC's goalkeeper Jorge Manes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timm Thielmann. The supporters of Oberbenningrath FC booed when Croatia United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Schardt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Schnellrieder made a kick off. Stefan Schnellrieder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilja Sieg having to interfere. Lars Rösler in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ilja Sieg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In a very dangerous position, a player in Croatia United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! When Oberbenningrath FC's Stefan Schnellrieder in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 71st match minute, Croatia United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faruk Magath to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Croatia United's goalkeeper Ilja Sieg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars Rösler. Croatia United's Ilja Sieg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Croatia United from getting a goal against them. After 89 played minutes Oberbenningrath FC got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Keim. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Timm Thielmann in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Manes saved Oberbenningrath FC from getting behind. Lars Rösler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilja Sieg having to interfere. Ilja Sieg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Schnellrieder, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Stefan Schnellrieder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oberbenningrath FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Schnellrieder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilja Sieg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
