The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 18 minutes of play, Hochstadt FSV's Engelbert Borchert made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raoul Schulze-Boysen was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ibbtown Digger booed when Hochstadt FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kostja Baumeister didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lovis Rampp scored 1-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Raoul Schulze-Boysen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute, Frederik Mende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caspar Berg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Gramminger in the 34th minute of play. Lovis Rampp struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Raoul Schulze-Boysen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hochstadt FSV. The attack was good, but when Engelbert Borchert in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean Gramminger was the one to do the kick off. Lovis Rampp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raoul Schulze-Boysen having to interfere. When Lovis Rampp came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Hochstadt FSV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lovis Rampp couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Engelbert Borchert in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raoul Schulze-Boysen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raoul Schulze-Boysen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Engelbert Borchert, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Tom Diebitsch hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eberhard Schicker during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Ibbtown Digger a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mirko Sziedat, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hochstadt FSV's Caspar Berg. 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lovis Rampp got free with Raoul Schulze-Boysen in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lovis Rampp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Raoul Schulze-Boysen when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
