FC Würzburger Kickers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Esile the free kick. The supporters of FC Esile booed when FC Würzburger Kickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hellmut Balterschütz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claus Nomayo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 99thth minute tested the skills of Marcio Hebel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match was over FC Würzburger Kickers could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Esile throughout the match.
