Xerxes Hauffen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Thorsten Traub. Lars Brüning recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lars Brüning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gernot Deipenbrock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FC Kusel's Xerxes Hauffen got control of the ball when Berthold Howahl tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lars Brüning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernot Deipenbrock having to interfere. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Kusel reached it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Xerxes Hauffen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 57 minutes into the match, Ihrenbrück's goal looked a bit too open when Sergej Maluga came free, but Gernot Deipenbrock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Kusel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Brüning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th match minute, Ihrenbrück was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Wald to maneuver through the defense. Sergej Maluga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gernot Deipenbrock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ihrenbrück defense, Lars Brüning kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gernot Deipenbrock. The Ihrenbrück fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gernot Deipenbrock should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Joachim von Berg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xerxes Hauffen was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. The supporters of Ihrenbrück booed when FC Kusel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Jensch didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 88 played minutes, Ihrenbrück's Oskar Orth shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Xerxes Hauffen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Lars Brüning who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Gernot Deipenbrock when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 92 minutes into the match, Ihrenbrück's goal looked a bit too open when Sergej Maluga came free, but Gernot Deipenbrock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Brüning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 96 minutes into the match, Ihrenbrück's goalkeeper Gernot Deipenbrock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars Brüning. FC Kusel were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
