In the 17th minute Sergej Maluga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Klaus Klötzer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Kusel's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernd Scholze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Klaus Klötzer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Brüning in the 42nd minute of play forced Gel Hele's goalkeeper Klaus Klötzer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henning Schallmo to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of FC Kusel booed when Gel Hele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Hansen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over FC Kusel could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gel Hele throughout the match.
