Pascal Joneschat might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sören Räthe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pascal Joneschat ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th minute, Rüdiger Machalowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sören Räthe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Iserlohn Kangaroos's Sören Räthe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rüdiger Machalowski in the 22nd minute of play. Raphael Kofler scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfons Chef, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Pascal Joneschat came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Morkepütz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Joneschat couldn't finish the play. Folker Augenthaler's late challenge caught a Morkepütz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Folker Augenthaler helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Iserlohn Kangaroos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! After having played for 36 minutes, Udo Trener managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Morkepütz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Udo Trener was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38thth minute of the game Rüdiger Machalowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iserlohn Kangaroos's Sören Räthe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sören Räthe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rüdiger Machalowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iserlohn Kangaroos's Folker Augenthaler got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Folker Augenthaler off the ground. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Sören Räthe came out of the goal and Pascal Joneschat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iserlohn Kangaroos's Raphael Kofler got his second yellow card of the match in the 97th minute. The referee ordered Raphael Kofler off the ground. A collision led to Iserlohn Kangaroos getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Raphael Kofler hit a great ball. Morkepütz's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
