Arlo Schriml showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caspar Roder, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Jan Gryphius struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Friedemann Koller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rühl24. After a rather tough play, Rühl24's Peppo Paus got a free kick in the 28th minute. Pablo Bähr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Friedemann Koller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Bähr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Gryphius in the 38th minute of play forced SG WEST's goalkeeper Friedemann Koller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Gryphius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Friedemann Koller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan Gryphius in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Friedemann Koller saved SG WEST from getting behind. Rühl24's Jan Gryphius got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

If Jan Gryphius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danny Zenetti in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Friedemann Koller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Rühl24 defense, Caspar Roder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arlo Schriml. The Rühl24 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arlo Schriml should have stopped the shot. When Alexander Lahme fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SG WEST's protests and gave Alexander Lahme a yellow card for diving instead. Jan Gryphius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Friedemann Koller having to make a save. Immo Stallmann hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Rühl24's Pablo Bähr got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Jan Gryphius ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Friedemann Koller was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Gabor Mulack charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabor Mulack the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SG WEST getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gabor Mulack hit a great ball. After 82 played minutes, Rühl24's Bernd Janing shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Friedemann Koller came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rühl24 reached it. If Jan Gryphius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caspar Roder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute.
