After a rather tough play, Rühl24's Wolfram Kieckbusch got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Rühl24's goalkeeper Arlo Schriml had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caspar Roder. In the 28th minute Jan Gryphius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Friedemann Koller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caspar Roder stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes in the game, Pablo Bähr fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Friedemann Koller having to interfere. Jan Gryphius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Friedemann Koller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Rühl24 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rühl24 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
