Florentin Szangolies received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Friedemann Koller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Florentin Szangolies managed to get in a good position for a shot. Speele FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Florentin Szangolies was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Friedemann Koller breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florentin Szangolies took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Friedemann Koller. Friedemann Koller dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Kord Hinschberger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Torsten Pyka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, SG WEST's goal looked a bit too open when Eberhard Weckenmann came free, but Friedemann Koller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caspar Roder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SG WEST defense, Florentin Szangolies kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Friedemann Koller. The SG WEST fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Friedemann Koller should have stopped the shot. Torsten Pyka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kord Hinschberger in the 39th minute of the match. Speele FC's Torsten Pyka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kord Hinschberger in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caspar Roder got free with Torsten Pyka in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Torsten Pyka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kord Hinschberger, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Kord Hinschberger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caspar Roder blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Torsten Pyka having to make a save. The Speele FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Torsten Pyka should have stopped the shot. Kord Hinschberger might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torsten Pyka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kord Hinschberger ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henning Strasbach during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Speele FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for SG WEST. Rolf Flach stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Torsten Pyka. 2-2. The supporters of SG WEST booed when Speele FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josua Bierhoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolf Flach, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 93 minutes, Kord Hinschberger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SG WEST's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kord Hinschberger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
