Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ken Leitner, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ken Leitner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claus Wassermann's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Arnold Geldreich struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Ken Leitner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lierenfeld FC. Ken Leitner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnold Geldreich, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 18 played minutes Schönhof got a freekick which was hit by Botho Scherzer. Dominik Bakker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georg Tippenhauer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Claus Wassermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lierenfeld FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claus Wassermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Volker Hog-Heidel kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Schönhof's Ken Leitner got control of the ball when Arnold Geldreich tried to sneak it across the goal line. Georg Tippenhauer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heiko Schommer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claus Wassermann was the one to do the kick off. Heiko Schommer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Georg Tippenhauer having to make a save. Georg Tippenhauer made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Dominik Bakker sent off a good shot on target. If Claus Wassermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georg Tippenhauer made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Dominik Bakker sent off a good shot on target. 77 minutes into the game, Detlef Wohlleben was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lierenfeld FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schönhof the free kick. The supporters of Schönhof booed when Lierenfeld FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Detlef Wohlleben didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heiko Schommer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Janek Winkelmann charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Janek Winkelmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Schönhof getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Janek Winkelmann hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute of the match Raphael Frieg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ken Leitner showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Schönhof's Ken Leitner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Geldreich in the 85th minute of play. If Claus Wassermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Georg Tippenhauer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Janek Winkelmann in the 92nd minute of the match. Schönhof's Ken Leitner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Wassermann in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Heiko Schommer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Lierenfeld FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Schönhof's performance. The match ended with a win for Schönhof.
