In the 8thth minute of the game Jens Das who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Frankfurt's Ulf Zöller was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Donald Treiber's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulf Zöller was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Kai Gläßel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonid Sanders having to interfere. Bo Hirt's late challenge caught a Obersgegen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bo Hirt helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Frankfurt's Bo Hirt got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ulf Zöller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donald Treiber, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the FC Frankfurt defense, Donald Treiber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulf Zöller. The FC Frankfurt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulf Zöller should have stopped the shot. Jens Das received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ulf Zöller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Willy Ochs charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willy Ochs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Frankfurt getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Willy Ochs hit a great ball. Donald Treiber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jens Das received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ulf Zöller came out and tried to block the shot, but Jens Das slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 82nd minute. Jens Das in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ulf Zöller, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Jens Das had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Obersgegen's Ulf Zöller threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Donald Treiber, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
