A very good chance for a goal. Jörg Hupach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pjotr List read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute Bobby Enderle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pjotr List saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sterzenbach's zone, Bobby Enderle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pjotr List came out of the goal and Bobby Enderle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bobby Enderle hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Bobby Enderle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Sterzenbach's goal looked a bit too open when Bobby Enderle came free, but Pjotr List reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Gil Plum cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Pjotr List was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pjotr List took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Enderle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bobby Enderle was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Richard Kurtz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sterzenbach's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Kurtz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Schirmer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gersheim's Thomas Schirmer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harro Graichen in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Kurtz got free with Thomas Schirmer in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79thth minute of the game Harro Graichen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gersheim's Thomas Schirmer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Schirmer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harro Graichen, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After taking down the ball on Sterzenbach's corner Roberto Öllerich fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thomas Schirmer quite easily take care of the ball. If Gil Plum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
