In the 8th match minute, Hamburger SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timm Tenberge to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Timm Tenberge fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Leonid Sanders. Norbert Wöhrle charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norbert Wöhrle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th minute, Norbert Wöhrle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hamburger SV's Timm Tenberge in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ehrhard Hasse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ehrhard Hasse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens Das's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Ehrhard Hasse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens Das in the 37th minute of the match. After the first half Obersgegen were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donald Treiber to strike the kick off in the second half. If Jens Das had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of Hamburger SV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Obersgegen:s goal. Hamburger SV:s Ehrhard Hasse showed great skill when he stopped Erasmus Strauch:s penalty. After a rather tough play, Obersgegen's Lukasz Hopp got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jens Das in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ehrhard Hasse, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Norbert Wöhrle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the game, Donald Treiber recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ehrhard Hasse. Donald Treiber showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Timm Tenberge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Leonid Sanders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburger SV's goalkeeper Ehrhard Hasse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With his leg Ehrhard Hasse managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Obersgegen's Jens Das fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Hamburger SV booed when Obersgegen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lukasz Hopp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Jungwirth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jens Das received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ehrhard Hasse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Michael Rauen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hamburger SV's Ehrhard Hasse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donald Treiber in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hamburger SV's Markus Goldenbogen got a free kick in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Jungwirth in the 88th minute of play forced Obersgegen's goalkeeper Leonid Sanders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jens Das fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ehrhard Hasse having to interfere. Markus Goldenbogen kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After 98 minutes, Herbert Neumann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hamburger SV and the Obersgegen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Obersgegen booed when Hamburger SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Neumann didn't get a good kick on the ball.
