Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hermann Grunert started the match with the kick off. In the 4th match minute, FC Frankfurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Gläßel to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 7 minutes, Otfried Hesse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Detzem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otfried Hesse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Willy Ochs kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. FC Frankfurt's Ulf Zöller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rainer Campe in the 11th minute of play. Lars Mühlfenzl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ulf Zöller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulf Zöller came out of the goal and Wolfram Ridder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bo Hirt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paulo Punke firmly grabbed it by the left post. 48 minutes into the game, Detzem's Wolfram Ridder nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulf Zöller made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The FC Frankfurt players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Detzem were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kai Gläßel to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermann Grunert in the 55th minute of play forced FC Frankfurt's goalkeeper Ulf Zöller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Kord Diesterhöft sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Punke skillfully saved the ball. Paulo Punke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willy Ochs in the 59th minute of the match. When Willy Ochs was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 60 minutes had been played. After 61 played minutes FC Frankfurt got a freekick which was hit by Willy Ochs. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Frankfurt's goalkeeper Ulf Zöller, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Hermann Grunert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Detzem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 72nd match minute, FC Frankfurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Gläßel to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Detzem's goal looked a bit too open when Kai Gläßel came free, but Paulo Punke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aimo Bauer in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Punke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Paulo Punke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aimo Bauer in the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Bo Hirt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Punke was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 89th minute, Bo Hirt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulf Zöller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolfram Ridder in the 90th minute of the match. Kord Diesterhöft kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Henning Tilner kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Frankfurt's zone, Otfried Hesse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulf Zöller came out of the goal and Otfried Hesse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermann Grunert in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulf Zöller saved FC Frankfurt from getting behind. Detzem's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
