Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) FC Frankfurt's Kai Gläßel started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gil Kick struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. When Rainer Campe came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Detzem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rainer Campe couldn't finish the play. Ulf Zöller made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Gil Kick sent off a good shot on target. Paulo Punke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kai Gläßel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Aimo Bauer notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Detzem's Paulo Punke. Paulo Punke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rainer Campe in the 24th minute of play forced FC Frankfurt's goalkeeper Ulf Zöller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Kai Gläßel made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Punke. Detzem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hermann Grunert to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Hermann Grunert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulf Zöller was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Hermann Grunert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ulf Zöller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
