In the 13th minute, Hamburger SV's Timm Tenberge dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, LOKOMOTIVE PASLAM's goal looked a bit too open when Timm Tenberge came free, but Dietmar Lintner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timm Tenberge struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Dietmar Lintner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburger SV. 25 minutes into the game, LOKOMOTIVE PASLAM's Fedor Juhr nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ehrhard Hasse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Hamburger SV's Michael Rauen got his second yellow card of the match in the 30th minute. The referee ordered Michael Rauen off the ground. In the 31st minute, Michael Rauen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fedor Juhr blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ehrhard Hasse having to make a save. A collision led to Hamburger SV getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Markus Goldenbogen hit a great ball. Martin Jungwirth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietmar Lintner having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Jungwirth made a kick off. In the 71stth minute of the game Martin Jungwirth who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LOKOMOTIVE PASLAM's Dietmar Lintner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Hamburger SV defense, Joachim Heinrici kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ehrhard Hasse. The Hamburger SV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ehrhard Hasse should have stopped the shot. Ehrhard Hasse was a little too slow when Fedor Juhr got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 1-3. Fedor Juhr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ehrhard Hasse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fedor Juhr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Joachim Heinrici came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the LOKOMOTIVE PASLAM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joachim Heinrici couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. LOKOMOTIVE PASLAM walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
