The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Herbert Stube received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jörg Hupach kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herbert Stube in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Schirmer saved Gersheim from getting behind. Oswald Kuch was a little too slow when Bobby Enderle got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. Jörg Hupach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Oswald Kuch made a huge save. Preussen Krefeld II were furious when Florian Trumpf was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Florian Trumpf hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Preussen Krefeld II's goalkeeper Oswald Kuch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gil Plum. In the 29th minute, Jörg Hupach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joachim Euskirchen in the 33rd minute of play forced Gersheim's goalkeeper Thomas Schirmer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joachim Euskirchen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Schirmer having to interfere. Jörn Grosser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bobby Enderle made a kick off. Joachim Euskirchen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oswald Kuch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bobby Enderle in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gersheim's Lee Kampf got a free kick in the 66th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Klaus Ruge notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Preussen Krefeld II's Oswald Kuch. Oswald Kuch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 73 minutes into the match, Preussen Krefeld II's goal looked a bit too open when Jörg Hupach came free, but Oswald Kuch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oswald Kuch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörg Hupach, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Preussen Krefeld II's goal looked a bit too open when Klaus Ruge came free, but Oswald Kuch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Jörg Hupach notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Preussen Krefeld II's Oswald Kuch. Oswald Kuch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Bobby Enderle took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oswald Kuch. Oswald Kuch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Gersheim's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
