The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Wolf-Dieter Schröder got the match started through his kick off. After 5 minutes, Milenko Bleich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Süderschwei and the 1.FC Union Berlin players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of 1.FC Union Berlin booed when Süderschwei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milenko Bleich didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Andreas von Gartzen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Union Berlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas von Gartzen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elvis Freese was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rasmus Hahnen made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Andreas von Gartzen sent off a good shot on target. Wolf-Dieter Schröder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siegmund Splett having to interfere. Siegmund Splett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolf-Dieter Schröder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ned Meyer struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Siegmund Splett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Süderschwei. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rasmus Hahnen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elvis Freese showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 47 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvis Freese in the 92nd minute of play forced Süderschwei's goalkeeper Rasmus Hahnen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egmund Weiß received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Rasmus Hahnen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Süderschwei players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for 1.FC Union Berlin.
