Arminius Pausch charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arminius Pausch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Spechtholtshook booed when GÖZTEPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arminius Pausch didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute of the match Cosmo Michl sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Achaz Störmer skillfully saved the ball. In the 32nd minute, Kurt Konerding hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Spechtholtshook's Cosmo Michl tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Spechtholtshook's goal looked a bit too open when Erich Rietentiet came free, but Thorbjörn Krummwiede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ali Telkämper hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Thorbjörn Krummwiede made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Konerding in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Roger Bakunin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Spechtholtshook's Cosmo Michl got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Roger Bakunin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Thorbjörn Krummwiede tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Spechtholtshook getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Cosmo Michl hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erich Rietentiet was the one to do the kick off. Spechtholtshook's Thorbjörn Krummwiede played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erich Rietentiet in the 52nd minute of play. Waldemar Gorny struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Achaz Störmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spechtholtshook. Erich Rietentiet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thorbjörn Krummwiede read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Spechtholtshook's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Bakunin came free, but Thorbjörn Krummwiede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Memmel came free, but Achaz Störmer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Waldemar Gorny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waldemar Gornys short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Achaz Störmer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 79 minutes into the match, GÖZTEPE's Erich Rietentiet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thorbjörn Krummwiede narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thorbjörn Krummwiede stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erich Rietentiet's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Waldemar Gorny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achaz Störmer having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Roger Bakunin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 91 played minutes GÖZTEPE got a freekick which was hit by Olaf Bergmann. Waldemar Gorny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achaz Störmer having to interfere.
