After recieving a nice pass, FC Holzkopf's Luis Hönig tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Egidius Hähle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 played minutes Die Durchstarter got a freekick which was hit by Jamal Iffland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennert Scheil in the 35th minute of play forced Die Durchstarter's goalkeeper Michael Stieglitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Grammelspacher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tobias Grammelspacher was the one to do the kick off. Die Durchstarter's Michael Stieglitz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Die Durchstarter from getting a goal against them. In the 67th minute, Tobias Grammelspacher made a precise shot to the right of Eugen Krapp. FC Holzkopf's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 70 minutes into the game, Jonas Sanke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Die Durchstarter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Holzkopf the free kick. Die Durchstarter's Michael Stieglitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Kalisch in the 72nd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, FC Holzkopf's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Grammelspacher came free, but Eugen Krapp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Konstantin Romstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Holzkopf booed when Die Durchstarter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alois Croissant didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Lennert Scheil came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the FC Holzkopf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lennert Scheil couldn't finish the play. Die Durchstarter's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
