Real Madrid CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lothar Oberbeck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lothar Oberbeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Holzwart having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Epp in the 25th minute of play forced Real Madrid CF's goalkeeper Frank Raiser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes FC KÖLLE got a freekick which was hit by Toni Wüllbier. When Oliver Epp fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC KÖLLE's protests and gave Oliver Epp a yellow card for diving instead. Oliver Epp kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of FC KÖLLE booed when Real Madrid CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralph Siebert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Raiser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludwig Beuschlein, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Frank Raiser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Issey Budden in the 46th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Oliver Epp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Raiser was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronny Krehl was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Epp got free with Frank Raiser in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Josef Holzwart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc-Dominic Rolker in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Egmont Klich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lothar Oberbeck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Josef Holzwart having to make a save. Marc-Dominic Rolker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Josef Holzwart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dimitri Steffes hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Frank Raiser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver Epp in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Issey Budden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Raiser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Toni Wüllbier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Raiser. Real Madrid CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toni Wüllbier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 70 played minutes FC KÖLLE got a freekick which was hit by Ludwig Beuschlein. Lothar Oberbeck scored 1-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Josef Holzwart, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lothar Oberbeck came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Real Madrid CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lothar Oberbeck couldn't finish the play. Josef Holzwart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Ressemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC KÖLLE's Toni Wüllbier got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute, FC KÖLLE's Oliver Epp dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Bernhard Gaßner charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernhard Gaßner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th match minute, Real Madrid CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernhard Gaßner to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle went the supporters of FC KÖLLE were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Real Madrid CF side.
