Dieter Schnitzler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovid Eisenhauer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Ewald Daumann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Knut Strunck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, ESV Fortuna Celle's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Bachmann came free, but Steffen Redda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as ESV Fortuna Celle's Stephan Ellermann slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ovid Eisenhauer. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. Steffen Redda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rüdiger Nellessen in the 29th minute of the match. Dieter Schnitzler was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 35th minute, Felix Andersen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steffen Redda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Balduin Püst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Rüdiger Nellessen made the kick off in the second half. Guido Beekhuis charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guido Beekhuis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ESV Fortuna Celle getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kamil Zettel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovid Eisenhauer having to interfere. Wolterdingen FSV's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
