Sönke Toth who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 6thth minute tested the skills of Yavuz Bendl when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 7 minutes, Adrian Gnant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hannover City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Gnant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Hannover City booed when Katzwalchen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ehrhard Birkner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Gnant blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yavuz Bendl having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Adrian Gnant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yavuz Bendl was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. A collision led to Katzwalchen getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ehrhard Birkner hit a great ball. Sönke Toth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Yavuz Bendl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kai Rebmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sönke Toth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yavuz Bendl having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hannover City's Henrico Lehmann got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jochen Krämer in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toni Hoss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Asmus Brahms charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Asmus Brahms the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Asmus Brahms kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Katzwalchen's Jochen Krämer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Toni Hoss narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Katzwalchen's Kai Rebmann got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Jochen Krämer struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Toni Hoss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Katzwalchen. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Katzwalchen's goalkeeper Yavuz Bendl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sönke Toth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yavuz Bendl having to interfere. Adrian Gnant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Ehrhard Birkner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the match, Sönke Toth had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yavuz Bendl. Katzwalchen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sönke Toth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Gnant in the 83rd minute of play forced Katzwalchen's goalkeeper Yavuz Bendl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute of the match Dietrich Blass shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yavuz Bendl showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Hannover City getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Asmus Brahms hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Katzwalchen players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hannover City.
