Raphael Hollersen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Grammersdorf booed when FC Union Mühlhausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ullrich Körper didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apollo Hotzy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulf Kozub, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 minutes of play, FC Union Mühlhausen's Bo Söhner made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Apollo Hotzy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gert Steimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute Ulf Kozub shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apollo Hotzy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Grammersdorf's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Kozub came free, but Apollo Hotzy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Hollersen in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Union Mühlhausen's goalkeeper Elmar Bordorf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorck Balldorf charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 72nd minute, one of Grammersdorf:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Grammersdorf. In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for FC Union Mühlhausen. Emil Welz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Apollo Hotzy. 4-0. Ullrich Körper got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 82nd match minute, FC Union Mühlhausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ullrich Körper to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Bo Söhner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apollo Hotzy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Apollo Hotzy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the FC Union Mühlhausen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
