Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eduard Kühn kicked off to start the match. Heimito Seisler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elmar Bordorf having to interfere. Elmar Bordorf made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heimito Seisler in the 6th minute. After 6 played minutes FC Union Mühlhausen got a freekick which was hit by Jan Kubica. In the 7th minute, Heimito Seisler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 11th minute, Ulf Kozub got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elmar Bordorf made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Heimito Seisler sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the game, FC Union Mühlhausen's Bo Söhner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eberhard Knoche made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 25th minute, Emil Welz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clark Keuerleber, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 34 played minutes Eduard Kühn rounded FC Union Mühlhausen's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 37th minute, Heimito Seisler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elmar Bordorf was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heimito Seisler got free with Elmar Bordorf in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute, FC Union Mühlhausen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Heimito Seisler fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulf Kozub to strike the kick off in the second half. Grimelsheim FC's Eberhard Knoche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Grimelsheim FC from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Grimelsheim FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ulf Kozub came free, but Eberhard Knoche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulf Kozub received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Eberhard Knoche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Simon Kirchberger fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grimelsheim FC's protests and gave Simon Kirchberger a yellow card for diving instead. Heimito Seisler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Kirchberger kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Ulf Kozub fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in FC Union Mühlhausen's zone, Heimito Seisler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elmar Bordorf came out of the goal and Heimito Seisler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ulf Kozub had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grimelsheim FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Union Mühlhausen for a fine match.
