Ponlehen FSV's Leonid Dreyer quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lion Henschel, made in the 3rd minute of the game. Ponlehen FSV's Leonid Dreyer managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lion Henschel in the 4 minute of the game. Thorsten Ahnsorge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonid Dreyer in the 5th minute of the match. Toni Breuer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerke Hennig having to interfere. Thorsten Ahnsorge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaap von Gyldenfeldt's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Toni Breuer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merl FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toni Breuer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Toni Breuer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gerke Hennig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Breuer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pascal Krug charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pascal Krug the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Pascal Krug hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute Jaap von Gyldenfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thorsten Ahnsorge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roy Künast struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Gerke Hennig didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merl FSV. A collision led to Ponlehen FSV getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Leonid Dreyer hit a great ball. In the 44thth minute of the game Toni Breuer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ponlehen FSV's Gerke Hennig was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Toni Breuer made the kick off in the second half. Jaap von Gyldenfeldt hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. When Holger Hennrich fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponlehen FSV's protests and gave Holger Hennrich a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ponlehen FSV! When the match had been going on for 55 minutes, Merl FSV's Toni Breuer got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gerke Hennig. 59 minutes into the game, Toni Breuer lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Gerke Hennig. In the 70th minute of the match, Heribert Scholl got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gerke Hennig was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 71 minutes into the game, Leonid Dreyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponlehen FSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merl FSV the free kick. Leonid Dreyer kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Toni Breuers short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Gerke Hennig to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Toni Breuer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Merl FSV booed when Ponlehen FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnim Kircher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heribert Scholl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerke Hennig having to interfere.
