The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Benno Rehm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benno Rehm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Quabeck having to interfere. A collision led to Hirzenach FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Friedrich Hunds hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Hirzenach FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hartmut Sill fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 31st minute, one of Hirzenach FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hirzenach FC. The goalkeeper, Daniel Quabeck, was totally fooled by 1.SSV Heimelf's Matthias W Rauche, who 33 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robert Dommert to strike the kick off in the second half. Hartmut Sill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Quabeck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play.
