Omar Stachowsky who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Roy Werners when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 30 played minutes Werder freestyle got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Spanier. Roy Werners showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rouven Krohm in the 32nd minute of the match. Rupert Peter kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Rouven Krohm's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roy Werners read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rouven Krohm in the 42nd minute of play forced Blau-Weiß Paderborn's goalkeeper Roy Werners to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Benni Laschke fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Till Gaiser, passed just outside the right post. Enrique Hock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Omar Stachowsky had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roy Werners showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rouven Krohm in the 87th minute of the match.
