FC Türkiyem's supporters rose to their feet, but Jason Plum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nepomuk Naber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nepomuk Naber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jason Plum in the 36th minute of the match. Jason Plum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the match, FC Türkiyem's goal looked a bit too open when Götz Wieland came free, but Claus Wanneck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stefan Behrendt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claus Wanneck having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stefan Behrendt to strike the kick off in the second half.
