When Fortuna Selbach's Dennis Erhard in the 2nd minute got a chance for a shot 2nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Laubau's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan Wittke got free with Merten Weimann in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stefan Wittke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Merten Weimann having to interfere. Dolf Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hakan Singhammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Thorsten Hocker came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Laubau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thorsten Hocker couldn't finish the play. After 20 played minutes, Laubau's Peter Grundl shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dolf Lang came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Laubau reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joost Bieberkopf during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Fortuna Selbach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joost Bieberkopf to maneuver through the defense. After 26 played minutes, Fortuna Selbach's Jacob Coppi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Merten Weimann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Dolf Lang came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Laubau's Thorsten Hocker. But to his dismay, Thorsten Hocker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stefan Wittke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laubau's Merten Weimann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Wittke in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Stefan Wittke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fortuna Selbach's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laubau the free kick. A collision led to Fortuna Selbach getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Stefan Wittke hit a great ball. Thorsten Hocker struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Dolf Lang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laubau. Thorsten Hocker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Dolf Lang made a huge save. Dolf Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hakan Singhammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dolf Lang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakan Singhammer, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. If Thorsten Hocker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stefan Wittke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merten Weimann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Wittke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Merten Weimann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stefan Wittke went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Thorsten Hocker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Hakan Singhammer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
