Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Takeshi Lank made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 5th minute, Takeshi Lank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anselm Brenner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Weinkauff might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmund Kugler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Weinkauff ran back to his position shaking his head. Peter Hilkes's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edmund Kugler firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in VfB Stuttgart's zone, Peter Hilkes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmund Kugler came out of the goal and Peter Hilkes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcus Weinkauff during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcus Weinkauff hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The VfB Stuttgart fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when VfB Stuttgart's Takeshi Lank looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of VfB Stuttgart booed when Pinkler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Hilkes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th match minute, VfB Stuttgart was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Moos to maneuver through the defense. Peter Hilkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the game, Joseph Brendlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pinkler FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VfB Stuttgart the free kick. Joseph Brendlin kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Takeshi Lank managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VfB Stuttgart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Takeshi Lank was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus Weinkauff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Marcus Weinkauff sped through VfB Stuttgart's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edmund Kugler. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The wind increased when Marcus Weinkauff made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Theodor Dettmar got free with Hubert Lamprecht in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Takeshi Lank sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute, Luis Borgmeier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmund Kugler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Weinkauff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Timofej Bartels charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timofej Bartels the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Pinkler FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VfB Stuttgart:s goal. In the 62nd minute of the game, VfB Stuttgart got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. In the 68th minute, Joseph Brendlin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pinkler FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Takeshi Lank kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hubert Lamprecht. That made the score 2-3 in the 71 minute of play. When Takeshi Lank came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the VfB Stuttgart fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Takeshi Lank couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Pinkler FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Joseph Brendlin hit a great ball. In the 87th minute Peter Hilkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Kugler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in VfB Stuttgart's zone, Peter Hilkes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmund Kugler came out of the goal and Peter Hilkes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselm Brenner's late challenge caught a Pinkler FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselm Brenner helped the player get up and apologised. Anselm Brenner hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pinkler FC booed when VfB Stuttgart was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselm Brenner didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Marcus Weinkauff was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. The Pinkler FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching VfB Stuttgart's performance. The match ended with a win for VfB Stuttgart.
