Pinkler FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 10th match minute, Pinkler FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge Laslo to maneuver through the defense. Henning Hecht's late challenge caught a Pinkler FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Hilkes got free with Johannes Mintzel in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Peter Hilkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Mintzel having to interfere. Pieter Wilmen might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hubert Lamprecht. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pieter Wilmen ran back to his position shaking his head. The Pinkler FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Schwöb were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter Wilmen made a kick off. After having played for 93 minutes, Peter Hilkes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinkler FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Hilkes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Hilkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Pinkler FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
