Werner Walser yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Arik Beloch might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Werner Walser. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arik Beloch ran back to his position shaking his head. Manfred Plücken's late challenge caught a Merdingen FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manfred Plücken helped the player get up and apologised. Dan Degdau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Ertan Krause, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Karsten Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Degdau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes of play Eintracht Emden's Manfred Plücken was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Eintracht Emden's Manfred Plücken got a free kick in the 30th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Arik Beloch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eintracht Emden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arik Beloch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arik Beloch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dan Degdau made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Dirk Baumeister sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arik Beloch in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Werner Walser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cem Retelsdorf hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 59 minutes, Addi Holzer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eintracht Emden and the Merdingen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arik Beloch took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Werner Walser. Werner Walser dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. After a rather tough play, Merdingen FC's Ali Ertan Krause got a free kick in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karsten Lewandowski during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 71 played minutes Merdingen FC got a freekick which was hit by Karsten Lewandowski. In the 72nd minute, Sebastian Lausen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arik Beloch's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Walser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Nicholas Daus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Dan Degdau made a huge save. In the 83rd match minute, Eintracht Emden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Bodin to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arik Beloch in the 86th minute of play forced Merdingen FC's goalkeeper Werner Walser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Lausen might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Werner Walser. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Lausen ran back to his position shaking his head. After 98 played minutes Merdingen FC got a freekick which was hit by Eike Volkmann. Werner Walser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arik Beloch in the 100th minute of play.
