A sloppy throw-in by Damien Hofmann in the 8th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FFK Kosova's Simon Stenglein. Joris Bülow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Ekialde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hernan Klingbeil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joris Bülow having to interfere. Honorio Ekialde struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Joris Bülow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FFK Kosova. Joris Bülow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Honorio Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 20th match minute, FFK Kosova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Klingbeil to maneuver through the defense. After 27 played minutes FFK Kosova got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Ekialde. With a little luck, Sange's Joris Bülow got control of the ball when Honorio Ekialde tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sange's Bartholomäus Notz got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Honorio Ekialde blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joris Bülow having to make a save. Sange's Joris Bülow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Ekialde in the 40th minute of play. Otmar Labouvie charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otmar Labouvie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dieter Kästner was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorio Ekialde in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joris Bülow saved Sange from getting behind. Edmund Grotthaus hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Sange's goal looked a bit too open when Honorio Ekialde came free, but Joris Bülow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joris Bülow came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by FFK Kosova's Honorio Ekialde. But to his dismay, Honorio Ekialde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Honorio Ekialde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Joris Bülow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Honorio Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Meikel Bode fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FFK Kosova's protests and gave Meikel Bode a yellow card for diving instead. 74 minutes into the game, FFK Kosova's Honorio Ekialde nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joris Bülow made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 80 minutes into the match, FFK Kosova's goalkeeper Jonas Degener had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dieter Kästner. The supporters of FFK Kosova booed when Sange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christos Thies didn't get a good kick on the ball.
