Eitel Scharpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Möllring hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Göppersdorf FC's zone, Boubacar Thum stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eitel Scharpe came out of the goal and Boubacar Thum tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Hector Möllring was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Göppersdorf FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Schechen the free kick. The supporters of Schechen booed when Göppersdorf FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Möllring didn't get a good kick on the ball. Schechen's Boubacar Thum got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Runge hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Ronnie Bombard received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dimitrios Møller came out and tried to block the shot, but Ronnie Bombard slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. Eitel Scharpe came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Schechen's Julius Ulbricht. But to his dismay, Julius Ulbricht quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Eitel Scharpe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julius Ulbricht in the 33rd minute of the match. Tim Deligöz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dimitrios Møller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Deligöz in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Schechen's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Deligöz came free, but Dimitrios Møller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boubacar Thum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dieter Jagow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Eitel Scharpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
