After a defensive mix-up in Ludwigsburg's zone, Saul Huff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidor Arendt came out of the goal and Saul Huff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute of the match, Leik Fuhrmann tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bruno Gapp saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Isidor Arendt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arno Melzer in the 19th minute of play. Björn Gondro struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Isidor Arendt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Blumen Osterfeld. 22 minutes into the match, Arno Melzer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ludwigsburg's Isidor Arendt. Isidor Arendt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, SV Blumen Osterfeld's Bruno Gapp got control of the ball when Lutz Öchsle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arno Melzer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isidor Arendt having to make a save. In the 29th minute, SV Blumen Osterfeld's Arvid Bongartz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Arvid Bongartz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SV Blumen Osterfeld protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Arvid Bongartz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SV Blumen Osterfeld! In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Ludwigsburg. Henning Ripoll stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bruno Gapp. 2-1. In the 34th match minute, Ludwigsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leik Fuhrmann to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Huff in the 37th minute of play forced Ludwigsburg's goalkeeper Isidor Arendt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Björn Gondro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidor Arendt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralph Grübel in the 40th minute of the match. SV Blumen Osterfeld's Bruno Gapp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save SV Blumen Osterfeld from getting a goal against them. Ralph Grübel struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Isidor Arendt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Blumen Osterfeld. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 59th minute, Henning Ripoll got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute Lutz Öchsle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Gapp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Gapp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henning Ripoll, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Henning Ripoll left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ludwigsburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leik Fuhrmann in the 73rd minute of play forced SV Blumen Osterfeld's goalkeeper Bruno Gapp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ralph Grübel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Isidor Arendt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Ralph Grübel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Blumen Osterfeld's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralph Grübel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidor Arendt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henning Ripoll might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Gapp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henning Ripoll ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Gapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Ripoll in the 80th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Ralph Grübel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isidor Arendt. Ludwigsburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ralph Grübel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After 94 minutes of play, Ludwigsburg's Henning Ripoll made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Gapp was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Ludwigsburg were victorious despite being under pressure from SV Blumen Osterfeld for much of the match.
