Spectators: 6500 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Henning Ripoll took the kick off in the first half of the match. Linus Mattern blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isidor Arendt having to make a save. Lutz Öchsle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ludwigsburg's Isidor Arendt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Béla Deck in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Linus Mattern in the 26th minute of play forced Ludwigsburg's goalkeeper Isidor Arendt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Linus Mattern sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Béla Deck in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isidor Arendt saved Ludwigsburg from getting behind. Béla Deck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Henning Ripoll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ludwigsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Henning Ripoll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hansel Golz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Béla Deck to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 61st match minute, Ludwigsburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonhard Marx to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Arnd Vuranoglu made a precise shot to the right of Hansel Golz. Petrolul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 72 minutes into the match, Roland Wehn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Isidor Arendt, 2-1. The supporters of Ludwigsburg booed when Petrolul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Béla Deck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ludwigsburg's Lutz Öchsle got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henning Ripoll struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Hansel Golz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ludwigsburg. 92 minutes into the match, Lutz Öchsle notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Petrolul's Hansel Golz. Hansel Golz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnd Vuranoglu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petrolul's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
