Helmut Lemke was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 15 minutes into the match. Esra Seyler made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Heinz-Gerd Horsmann sent off a good shot on target. Johannes Schlimm struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Eugen Gelb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KSC-Allstars. Conni Tetzner in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Esra Seyler, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of KSC-Allstars booed when Karlsruher SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Trachsel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esra Seyler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Holger Wohlert in the 25th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Karlsruher SC's Josef Trachsel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Esra Seyler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The KSC-Allstars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esra Seyler should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Conni Tetzner made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Karlsruher SC's zone, Johannes Schlimm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugen Gelb came out of the goal and Johannes Schlimm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute Conni Tetzner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esra Seyler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes in the game, Reinhard Dutzi fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Eugen Gelb having to interfere. Johannes Schlimm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Gelb having to interfere. If Josef Trachsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Karlsruher SC's goalkeeper Eugen Gelb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johannes Schlimm. Johannes Schlimm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Eugen Gelb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
