After 19 minutes, Gerald Greilich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 1. SG Union Frankfurt and the Blau–Weiß Pinneberg 05 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes 1. SG Union Frankfurt got a freekick which was hit by Gerald Greilich. Blau–Weiß Pinneberg 05's Birger Goll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bermudez in the 24th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexander Bermudez made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislaw Bügen in the 55th minute of play forced 1. SG Union Frankfurt's goalkeeper Marcus Oppermann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, Blau–Weiß Pinneberg 05 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislaw Bügen to maneuver through the defense. 김 매 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Blau–Weiß Pinneberg 05's Erich Wolf got a free kick in the 65th minute. During the 66th minute of the match Gerald Greilich completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gerald Greilich a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 97th minute, Alexander Bermudez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Palle Höfgen kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match. Blau–Weiß Pinneberg 05's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
