The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Rolf Sonntag's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Heiko Sudhoff was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 4th minute, Rolf Sonntag got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rolf Sonntag blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Heiko Sudhoff having to make a save. In the 8th minute, Rolf Sonntag got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Burgstaaken FC's zone, Rolf Sonntag stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heiko Sudhoff came out of the goal and Rolf Sonntag tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmed Pflug sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolf Sonntag's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Heiko Sudhoff skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Burgstaaken FC's zone, Rolf Sonntag stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heiko Sudhoff came out of the goal and Rolf Sonntag tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the match, Till Stöhr had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Heiko Sudhoff. Burgstaaken FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Till Stöhr was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. FC Wesseling's Afonso Santarém played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joseph Schätzle in the 21st minute of play. Rolf Sonntag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jockel Bassen in the 24th minute of play forced FC Wesseling's goalkeeper Afonso Santarém to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Hans Müntefering shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heiko Sudhoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Rolf Sonntag notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Burgstaaken FC's Heiko Sudhoff. Heiko Sudhoff was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 33rd match minute, FC Wesseling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmed Pflug to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, FC Wesseling's goal looked a bit too open when Jockel Bassen came free, but Afonso Santarém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonso Santarém showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jockel Bassen in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the match Sigi Matthies shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Afonso Santarém showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolf Sonntag in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heiko Sudhoff saved Burgstaaken FC from getting behind. Rolf Sonntag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rolf Sonntag stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Heiko Sudhoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rolf Sonntag, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 57 played minutes Burgstaaken FC got a freekick which was hit by Kamil Wohl. Rolf Sonntag kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. A hard shot 59 in the game by Joseph Schätzle from a close distance when the talented Afonso Santarém managed to make a qualified save. FC Wesseling's players were relieved. 60 minutes into the match, FC Wesseling's goalkeeper Afonso Santarém had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christoph Polenz. Silvano Goldsche kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Kamil Wohl hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Rolf Sonntag scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Heiko Sudhoff, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ahmed Pflug's late challenge caught a Burgstaaken FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmed Pflug helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Wesseling's Ahmed Pflug got a free kick in the 77th minute. Afonso Santarém made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamil Wohl in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, FC Wesseling's goal looked a bit too open when Jockel Bassen came free, but Afonso Santarém reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Till Stöhr in the 85th minute of play forced Burgstaaken FC's goalkeeper Heiko Sudhoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Rolf Sonntag ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Heiko Sudhoff was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Joseph Schätzle hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Jockel Bassen kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Joseph Schätzle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Afonso Santarém made a huge save. FC Wesseling walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
