FSV Leiferde 05 were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Bortfeld's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Heinz Forst took the corner. The corner ended in Heinz Forst almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bortfeld's Golo Nikoleit did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Markus Hundt in the 18th minute of play forced Bortfeld's goalkeeper Golo Nikoleit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Günther Sporn kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Golo Nikoleit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from York Reckmaier in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute, York Reckmaier made a precise shot to the right of Golo Nikoleit. Sönke Saßmannshausen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Golo Nikoleit. Bortfeld's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Burkhard Schnitzler was shown his second yellow card after 60 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Bortfeld's Hemmo Ginsberg got a free kick in the 64th minute. York Reckmaier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Golo Nikoleit having to interfere. If York Reckmaier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sönke Saßmannshausen hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Jörg Wadehn scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sam Habel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, FSV Leiferde 05's Sam Habel got control of the ball when Günther Sporn tried to sneak it across the goal line.
