Kellerbräu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Motor Altenburg the free kick. In the 13th minute Hans-Jürgen Grunert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Detlef Bühlert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Hans-Jürgen Grunert quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bartholomäus Zintl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Detlef Bühlert having to make a save. After 30 minutes, Fortunato Schumacher made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Motor Altenburg's Detlef Bühlert tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Detlef Bühlert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th match minute, Motor Altenburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jürgen Bäuerle to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hans-Jürgen Grunert in the 46th managed to get into a good position. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans-Jürgen Grunert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 71 played minutes Motor Altenburg got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Bunge. Hans-Jürgen Grunert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Kellerbräu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Naohiro Wuong came free, but Décio Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Bartholomäus Zintl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kellerbräu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bartholomäus Zintl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Detlef Bühlert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Rolf Stotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Décio Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stefan Thießen during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
