Zaman Schwarz in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Enzo Neuhäuser, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 37 minutes into the game, Mika Nass was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1. FC Köln's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RB Gladbach 93 the free kick. The supporters of RB Gladbach 93 booed when 1. FC Köln was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mika Nass didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3-0 became the score in the 45th minute when Walther Reckmaier elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walther Reckmaier to make the kick off. 54 minutes in the game Peter Betz did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Zaman Schwarz. In the 56th minute Zaman Schwarz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Neuhäuser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. RB Gladbach 93 were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after 1. FC Köln's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Artur Bergmeister took the corner. RB Gladbach 93's Gerrit Graf was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Enzo Neuhäuser in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 60th minute Zaman Schwarz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Neuhäuser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Walther Reckmaier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enzo Neuhäuser. 1. FC Köln's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walther Reckmaier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 67 minutes of play, RB Gladbach 93's Zaman Schwarz made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute Zaman Schwarz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Neuhäuser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Neuhäuser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaman Schwarz, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Livio Reisinger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 minutes, Gerrit Graf mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RB Gladbach 93 and the 1. FC Köln players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to RB Gladbach 93 getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Gerrit Graf hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Walther Reckmaier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Neuhäuser saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Zaman Schwarz managed to get in a good position for a shot. RB Gladbach 93's supporters rose to their feet, but Zaman Schwarz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enzo Neuhäuser breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 1. FC Köln's Mika Nass managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hamit Aretz in the 84 minute of the game. Enzo Neuhäuser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaman Schwarz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes into the game, RB Gladbach 93's Gerrit Graf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enzo Neuhäuser made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. The supporters of 1. FC Köln booed when RB Gladbach 93 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Reuß didn't get a good kick on the ball.
