The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Wilhelm Nienhaus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hertha 1969's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilhelm Nienhaus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karsten Zielinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Balus Treter from getting a goal against them. In the 11th minute of the match, Wilhelm Nienhaus tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karsten Zielinski saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Benedikt Bensch hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Rune Jarstein didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Neşat Beykan went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 25 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo da Silva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Karsten Zielinski, 1-1. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieter Bernardts in the 28th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Zé Paulo da Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob van der Werff in the 34th minute of play. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob van der Werff, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 39th minute, Neşat Beykan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo da Silva in the 41st minute of play. Karsten Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. When Dieter Bernardts fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balus Treter's protests and gave Dieter Bernardts a yellow card for diving instead. Karsten Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob van der Werff in the 45th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilhelm Nienhaus to make the kick off. The attack was good, but when Zé Paulo da Silva in the 68th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hertha 1969's Emilio Melzer was substituted for Benedikt Bensch. Karsten Zielinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo da Silva in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rd minute of the match, Neşat Beykan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rune Jarstein saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A well-hit corner resulted in Zé Paulo da Silva heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Karsten Zielinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Balus Treter getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Neşat Beykan hit a great ball. Karsten Zielinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils Hovermann in the 90th minute of the match. Karsten Zielinski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Paulo da Silva went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Hertha 1969's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
