The audience was convinced that Vahur Haas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Timo Courtois was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Timo Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fritz Molau in the 14th minute of play. SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fritz Molau in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute Wolfgang Goethe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute of the match, Delmiro Jayvier tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorge Campos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Alberigo Sessa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jorge Campos to make any attempt to save it.
