The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gustavo Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Kaj Mellberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Pavel Tomášek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s.'s goal looked a bit too open when Kaj Mellberg came free, but Pavel Tomášek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nemesio Lorencio made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Imrich Bartošík sent off a good shot on target. Josef Konečný received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nemesio Lorencio came out and tried to block the shot, but Josef Konečný slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 24th minute. Nemesio Lorencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Hegr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Imrich Bartošík received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Nemesio Lorencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Gustavo Maia elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Kaj Mellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 37 minutes, Pavel Kliment mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s. and the FC Řetenice players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Řetenice:s goal. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for FC Řetenice. Kaj Mellberg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pavel Tomášek. 1-2. The attack was good, but when Gustavo Maia in the 44th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Gustavo Maia succeeded in the game's 48th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. After the first half FC Řetenice were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 54 played minutes FC Řetenice got a freekick which was hit by Radmil Kubišta. In the 56th minute, Radmil Kubišta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josef Konečný hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. If Kaj Mellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gustavo Maia in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavel Tomášek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kaj Mellberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Pavel Tomášek made a huge save. Kaj Mellberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pavel Tomášek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee ignored FC Řetenice's protests and gave Radmil Kubišta a yellow card for diving instead. Radmil Kubišta hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Gustavo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s.'s Jakub Matyáš got a free kick in the 94th minute. FC Řetenice played a much better game than AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s. and deserved their victory. The AC SPARTA PRAHA a.s. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
